Going back to the lower world, at the Nho Quan palace at that time, there was a Muong mandarin with the Ha family. He is a benevolent man, his good heart is famous near and far for always helping the poor. Living a virtuous life is like that, but he and his wife were in their fifties without having a single child. Not giving up, he and his wife set up an altar and sent their hearts to the blue sky to get their wish.

That plea moved the Jade Emperor. He sent Princess Son Tinh to descend to earth, reincarnated as the son of the mandarin Ha and his wife, as a reward for his and his wife's frugality, virtue, and filial piety.

After receiving natural gas, twelve months later, Quan Lang Ha's wife became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. When the daughter was born, the birds flocked to the front of the house and sang endlessly like the joy of a mortal Christmas fairy.

When the daughter was four years old, the whole family of the Ha family moved to Muong Thang to take office. At that time, Muong Thang was in a highland area with a lack of water for daily life. At the foot of Dau Rong Mountain, there is a magical spring, the water is flowing and cool all year round. Villagers often go to the stream to bring water to use, the daughter often goes out to carry water to help her parents.

Time flies, she has turned 12 years old. At that age, she is extremely beautiful, white skin, smooth hair, round face, slim figure. One day, when she went to carry water, she met a sick, dirty, hungry old woman lying at the base of a banyan tree at the foot of Dragon Mountain.

The old woman groaned in pain every now and then, but no one would help her. She immediately felt compassion, knelt down, helped the old woman sit up, and gave her water to drink. Suddenly from nowhere, dark clouds came, the sky and earth were dark, the wind and dust rumbled.

The hungry and sick old woman suddenly became Fairy God Thuong Ngan, claiming to be Cao Son Thanh Nang (ie, Lord Ba Thuong Ngan Dieu Tin Zen Master Chua Muong), specializing in governing the mountainous areas, said to her: I am the Mother of Thuong Ngan, seeing that you are a gentle, virtuous person with compassion for all living beings. In my previous life, you were a fairy, listening to the Jade Emperor's orders, came down to earth to repay your parents. Now I have converted you into a fairy. about to be by my side, learn magic and save the world." Saying that, Duc Mother pulled out a stick carved with a dragon's head from her side and gave it to her. She received the cane and returned home, four days later she turned.

After she turned back to Holy Mother Thuong Ngan, she studied hard to save the people. She often roams around the mountainous regions, sometimes epiphany teaching ethnic minorities the language so that they can communicate with each other. Sometimes in her leisure time, she often resides in the mountainous area of Ninh Binh, her hometown. In that place, she and her fairy friends sang, recited poems, and enjoyed the day-to-day scenes on the slopes of the Bo slope.

There is a verse that says:

"Every river must be high and deep,

If there are dragons and fairies, there are gods everywhere."

Thuong Bong Lai Co Linh Tu refers to 2 temples including Thuong Bong Lai Co Linh Tu (Bong Lai Nho Quan Temple) and Thuong Bong Lai Cao Phong Temple (Bong Lai Cao Phong Hoa Binh Temple).

It is a remote mountainous area, but it is the place where Co Doi Thuong Ngan was born and reincarnated, so to commemorate her merits, people set up Bong Lai temple in Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh to worship the place where she was born in the mortal world. And in Muong Thang (Cao Phong district, Hoa Binh today), people set up a temple to worship her in Thien Thai cave, at the foot of Dau Rong mountain. That's where she had the opportunity to meet the Holy Mother of Thuong Ngan and also where she became.

Thuong Bong Lai Nho Quan Temple - Ninh Binh

The first Bong Lai Temple is located in Bong Lai village, Van Phuong commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh. This place is associated with the story of her Christmas. The temple here has the ancient name of Thuong Bong Lai Co Linh Tu Temple. This is the temple that just had a white snake appear on March 11th.

Bong Lai Temple was built during the Tran Dynasty, experiencing many ups and downs of time. In the past, Bong Lai temple was small but spacious. After liberation, under the influence of the anti-superstitious movement at that time, the temple was demolished. Only the remains are an incense censer and an ordination of King Khai Dinh. All other sacrifices were burned or lost.

People secretly built a small temple to continue to develop their hearts to worship Co Doi Thuong Ngan. Again, as if fate had not yet come, the temple was demolished. It was not until 2006, when Bong Lai villagers invited people to preside over the renovation, the new temple could be as it is today. In 2015, the new Tam Quan gate was built.

Folk sacraments are many, experiencing "mouth beer" also adds many strange details. However, the mysterious stories with spiritual colors at this Bong Lai temple are all derived from folk tales and oral traditions for many generations. Local people, no one is unknown.

Featured among them is the story below.

In the 60s of the twentieth century, after the temple was demolished, there was a large family with children. That family has 11 children, only the youngest is a boy. Maybe many people don't know, in many rural areas, the bamboo tree is often planted in front of the gates of temples and shrines. It is said that this is the abode of the Snake God. The youngest son accidentally cut an ancient bamboo tree behind the temple to make firewood. But before he could bring firewood home, the boy fell out in the wind, then he was 4 years old.

His family rushed to take him to the hospital for treatment, but it was too late. Later, family members often came to her temple as a belated repentance. I don't know if it's her fault or it's a coincidence, but the parents of a son who died at the age of 90 are still healthy. The rest of the children eat well.

It is said to each other that, when there is a mistake, she rebukes, but if she knows how to change her mind, she loves it.

According to the elderly, when the temple was demolished, many people immediately came to take home bricks and tiles to use, then were "rebuked". Everyone who has taken things from the temple, and the family is not disturbed, there are people who are sick or have a disaster...

Then there was the story of the temple - built with grass to temporarily worship when the temple was demolished. Some people came to burn it but couldn't burn it, even though it was so easily ignited. After expanding the arable land, the cooperative brought the car to bulldoze the temple, but every time it got close, the engine died, and finally gave up.

Of course, right or wrong depends on the mouth of life and folk words. Some say it's a coincidence, others believe that she prevented it. But no matter what, there is still an indisputable fact, that the temple has not been demolished despite going through many ups and downs and changes.

Later, the temple was renovated by the villagers, and at the same time invited a virtuous teacher to make incense sticks and take care of worship.

At that time, there was a fierce argument between the villagers, because the monk who was invited to return was not a local. Many people stood up to protest vehemently, including an old man. The person who, that very night, after returning from the village meeting, the people told him that he went to the garden and unfortunately put his foot in the wire of the mousetrap and was shocked, died suddenly.

This may also be just a coincidence, but those who believe in the sacredness of Co Doi Thuong Ngan have a different opinion.

Thuong Bong Lai Co Linh Tu is small but sacred, not flashy, but cozy and full of pure spiritual energy. The temple is located next to an immense field, leaning against the mountains with the same message. This place was evaluated by Ta Oai - a prominent feng shui master as a local spirit. Together with 3 other temples and pagodas around the area, Hoa Lu Tu Tran is created - a cover for the sacred ancient capital.

The ancient land of Muong Thang was also considered a place rich in geomancy. For many generations, the Muong people have recited the saying "Nhat Bi, Nhi Vang, Tam Thang, Tu Dong". This sentence refers to the four ancient Muong regions of Hung Hoa. Muong Bi is now Tan Lac district, Muong Vang is now Lac Son district, Muong Thang is now Cao Phong district, Muong Dong is now Kim Boi district.
